This framed rubbing depicts Margaret Francis, the second wife of Thomas Peyton, a 15th-century Cambridgeshire landowner, sheriff, and esquire. Margaret was the daughter and co-heiress of Sir Hugh Francis of Giffords in Suffolk. Thomas Peyton left a lasting mark on the history of Isleham, rebuilding the Church of St. Andrew’s, and is also depicted in a 1485 stained glass window at Long Melford Church in Suffolk. Created in Edinburgh, Scotland, this rubbing offers a fascinating glimpse into medieval history and the legacy of an English family. Dimensions: 22" L x 10" W
